Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating background to the Cambodia casinos that lie just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which gambling den gaming is not legal. Eight gambling dens are based in a generally tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect destination, a three to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest betting centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal income acquired from the gambling halls ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a couple of limitations requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; still, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 1700, and despite the fact visas are allegedly necessary to pass, there are ways around this, as is correct of many borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored boat gambling den, highlights 150 slot machine games and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of 21, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. There are 150 one armed bandits and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 one armed bandits and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and sixty six of the familiar table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a comprehensive resort and hotel building that features numerous conveniences on top of the gambling den, which houses 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slots and 88 table games.
