The conclusive number of Kyrgyzstan casinos is something in question. As data from this state, out in the very most interior section of Central Asia, can be awkward to get, this may not be too difficult to believe. Whether there are 2 or 3 authorized casinos is the item at issue, perhaps not really the most earth-shattering bit of data that we don’t have.
What no doubt will be accurate, as it is of most of the old Russian states, and absolutely true of those in Asia, is that there certainly is a good many more illegal and alternative gambling dens. The switch to legalized gambling didn’t energize all the former locations to come from the dark and become legitimate. So, the contention regarding the total number of Kyrgyzstan’s gambling halls is a minor one at best: how many accredited ones is the item we are seeking to resolve here.
We know that in Bishkek, the capital municipality, there is the Casino Las Vegas (a stunningly unique name, don’t you think?), which has both gaming tables and video slots. We will additionally find both the Casino Bishkek and the Xanadu Casino. Each of these offer 26 slot machine games and 11 gaming tables, separated between roulette, chemin de fer, and poker. Given the amazing similarity in the sq.ft. and floor plan of these two Kyrgyzstan casinos, it might be even more surprising to see that the casinos are at the same address. This seems most unlikely, so we can clearly conclude that the number of Kyrgyzstan’s casinos, at least the authorized ones, stops at 2 casinos, 1 of them having changed their title not long ago.
The nation, in common with almost all of the ex-USSR, has experienced something of a fast conversion to capitalism. The Wild East, you could say, to reference the anarchical circumstances of the Wild West a century and a half ago.
Kyrgyzstan’s gambling dens are in reality worth going to, therefore, as a bit of anthropological analysis, to see money being gambled as a type of collective one-upmanship, the celebrated consumption that Thorstein Veblen spoke about in 19th century America.
