Cambodia Gambling Dens

[ English ]

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the border from nearby Thailand, in which casino gambling is not legal. Eight gambling halls are situated in a relatively tiny space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect area, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing capital acquired from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few restrictions constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; still, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 1700, and although visas are allegedly required to cross, there are ways around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.

The initial Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored ship casino, contains 150 slot machine games and 60 table games. The Naga river boat never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machine games and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and sixty six of the common gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive vacation and hotel compound that highlights numerous conveniences aside from the gambling hall, which contains ten thousand square feet of 130 slots and eighty eight gaming tables.
